Our name brings two references together: the Persian kārvān, the source of “caravan,” and the Arabic karawan, a bird known for its distinctive call. These are separate linguistic references united by our creative idea: people moving together, each with a voice of their own. Our flowing mark suggests a wing, an open road, and a creative gesture.

What we make
Documentary and short films; photography and visual essays; interviews, podcasts, and written stories. We also develop commissioned productions, workshops, screenings, exhibitions, and cross-border collaborations.
Our base
Our physical base is a place to meet, work, and develop projects. Our collective and editorial focus extend across Asia. Membership is not tied to staying at the base.
